Irina Milisav

Irina Milisav is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology working on cellular stress responses. She obtained a Ph.D. in Human Molecular Genetics from University of Cambridge, UK (Churchill College) and had a Honorary status Cambridge Overseas Trust Scholar. She worked at BBSRC, Babraham Institute, Babraham, UK and was a Post-Doctoral fellow at Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich working on protein import through the inner mitochondrial membrane. Back in Slovenia she worked on cell death triggering and currently on the role of antioxidants and ROS in stress responses. She teaches undergraduate and graduate students at the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine at University of Ljubljana and has been included among the Top 100 educators of the world by IBC, UK. She is a Slovenian representative on the European network of researchers on reactive oxygen species, COST BM1203 EU-ROS, and a section editor of the journal Archives of Medical Sciences. From 2011 she is an ECQA certified EU-project leader, an ECQA m-learning manager from 2012 and is listed in Marquis Who'sWho in the World since 2013.
