Hani Mawardi is a native of Saudi Arabia who was born and raised in the city of Jeddah. After completing a bachelor’s degree in dentistry from King Abdulaziz University- Faculty of Dentistry, he pursued further graduate studies and was accepted at Harvard School of Dental Medicine to earn his DMSc degree and completed a residency in Oral Medicine and Periodontology. Afterward, he became a faculty member and a clinician at the Division of Oral Medicine and Dentistry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA. where he ran a dental service covering outpatients and in-patients for dental consultations and management of patients who are potential hematopoietic stem cell transplantation recipients and patients with head and neck cancer. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Diagnostic Science at King Abdulaziz University – Faculty of Dentistry as well as the Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at AlFarabi Private College, Jeddah.

Dr. Mawardi is one of few who teaches and practices in all fields of Oral Medicine, Oraofacial Pain and Periodontology. His clinical practice focuses on diagnosing and managing patients with wide range of oral diseases and orofacial pain disorders which include conditions like vesculo-bullous diseases, salivary gland disorders, oral graft-versus-host disease temporo-mandibular joint disorders and facial muscle pain. His research focuses on mucosal diseases and medication-associated osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ) in addition to patients with oral cancer. He has presented and published his research in many national and international meetings and highly respectable journals.
