Gisele Ferreira Tiryaki has a Bachelor degree in Economics from Universidade Federal da Bahia (1993), a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Northeastern University/Massachussets, EUA (1996) and a Doctorate degree in Economics from George Mason University/Virginia (2001). Ms. Tiryaki was a consultant at the World Bank headquarters between 1998 and 2001, where she conducted research related to private participation in infrastructure projects. Afterwards, she worked as an assistant professor at the Economics Department of Anadolu University (Turkey) between 2002 and 2005. In 2006, she was hired as an adjunct professor at that Master Program in Energy Regulation at Universidade Salvador (Bahia, Brasil), where she remained until 2009. Since 2010, Ms. Tiryaki has been working as a researcher and professor at the Economics Department of Universidade Federal da Bahia.
