Gemma Aiello graduated in Geological Sciences at the University Federico II of Naples, Italy. She works in Naples (Italy) and lives in Procida (NA), an island located in the Gulf of Naples. She is married and has two sons. She has completed a PhD in Sedimentary Geology at the University Federico II of Naples, Italy in the 1993 and a post-doctoral fellowship in Earth Sciences at the same university during the 1993-1995 years. From the 1998 to present-day she has developed its activity as researcher at the National Research Council of Italy, where her activity is testified by more than 150 publications in the field of geology, coupled with the participation in many research projects. Her main fields of interests are sedimentary geology and stratigraphy, marine geology and marine geophysics.
