Ganna M. Tolstanova is a physiologist and Professor of Biology. She has obtained her PhD (2002) and DSc (2011) degrees from Faculty of Biology Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. She is the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Pharmacology and the member of the Editorial Board of Ukr. Biochem J. She is the co-chair of the Basic Gastroenterology Unit at the Ukrainian Association of Gastroenterologists. She was a principal investigator in CRDF, Mevlana, DAAD, MESU and NRFU grants. The main direction of her scientific activity is studying the barrier function of the intestine in the normal and pathological state as well as finding agents for its correction.
