Francisco da Silva Costa is a professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Minho (Portugal) since 1998. He holds a PhD in Geography – Specialization “Physical Geography and Environmental Studies. He has extensive scientific production in several journals indexed on topics related to the planning and management of water resources, flooding, restoration of rivers and hydraulic heritage. He has more than twenty book chapters and published books. He has participated in various international events abroad and in Portugal. He was a visiting professor at the University of Limoges and recently in Paris VII (France). He coordinates and participates in several projects of which the ARCHIV-AVE – Digital memory “Documentary heritage of the Ave basin” stands out with the support of the Portuguese Environment Agency. He has an editorial participation and a reviewer function in more than two dozen magazines and newspapers, highlighting his participation as an evaluator in the recent world congresses on water (IWA) and nature conservation (IUCN).
