Dr. Fernando Gomes de Souza acts as an efficient Group Leader and Associate Professor at University Federal Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His expertise mainly focuses on Polymer Science Research. He coordinated 10 research projects with financial support from government sponsoring agencies. His group published 141 scientific articles, 3 chemistry books in Portuguese, 3 books about biopolymers in English, and 197 papers in conferences and scientific meetings. He was the co-convener of the 6th International Conference on Natural Polymers, Biopolymers and Biomaterials: Applications from Macro to Nanoscale and Chairman of the 5th International Conference on Natural Polymers, Biopolymers and Biomaterials: Applications from macro to Nanoscale. He supervised 128 undergraduate students, 29 master’s students,12 doctorates, and 6 post-doctorates. He currently supervises 8 undergraduate students, 5 master’s students, 10 doctorates, and 3 post-doctorates. He is a member of the editorial board of Current Applied Polymer Science and is the Editor in Chief of Current Applied Polymer Science, Associate Editor of the MedCrave Online Journal Polymer Science since 2017, and Editor of the Academic Journal of Polymer Science.
