Felipe Bezerra Ribeiro is PhD in Animal Biology from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Master in Tropical Marine Sciences and Bachelor in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC). He is member of the Brazilian Society of Carcinology (SBC) and the International Association of Astacology (IAA). He is currently a postdoctoral researcher (CNPq grantee) associated with the Department of Zoology of UFRGS and a collaborating professor in the same department and the Postgraduate Program in Animal Biology (PPGBAN), where he teaches disciplines concerning Zoology. Develop research in the area of crustacean systematics and ecology, with emphasis on the taxa Astacidea (freshwater crayfish), Anomura (hermit crabs) and Isopoda (parasitic isopods).
