Professor Dato’ Dr. Fariza Md Sham, FASc is a professor at the Centre for Da’wah and Leadership, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She specializes in Da’wah and Adolescent Development as well as Islamic Psychology/Da’wah. She has conducted extensive research and published numerous works in these fields. She actively participates in research, publication, seminars, conferences, and community service at both national and international levels. Currently, she is the Director of the Institute of Islam Hadhari (Institute of Islamic Civilization), UKM. As one of the female directors leading one of UKM’s 12 research institutes, she focuses on empowering multidisciplinary fields of Islamic Civilization including economics, politics, leadership, psychology, socio-cultural aspects, environmental and health education, as well as science and technology based on contemporary Islam to address current societal issues. She was appointed Member of the Board of Visitors of the Psychiatric Hospital, Medical Centre of University Malaya, and was also appointed Council Member of the Pahang State Islamic Religious Council (MUIP). She has recently been appointed as a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (Fellow ASM).
