Prof. Boon obtained a PhD in Economic Sciences from VUB in 1986 and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Sumy State University in 1998. He taught several courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Economic, Social, and Political Sciences and Solvay Business School as well as the Department of Public Health of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium between 1989 and 2017. He is crowned as the Development Chief of the Lambussie Traditional Area in the Upper West Region and as a Development Linguist of Wli Community in the Volta Region in Ghana.
