Dr. Doron Pely received his B.Sc. in computer science, his MA in international dispute resolution, and his PhD (Kings College, London) in Middle East studies. Doron studies and writes extensively about Muslim/Arab conflict resolution traditions. He teaches conflict de-escalation and cross-cultural negotiations at the Safe Communities Institute, a part of the Sol Price School of Social Policy at the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Pely taught emotions in conflict at the Graduate Program in Dispute Resolution at Bar Ilan University, Israel.

"Between I and We: Unifying Psychology and Sociology Along the Amygdala-Prefrontal Cortex Continuum" is Dr. Pely’s fifth book. The other four are a mix of academic research and fiction. Among his many activities, Doron was the editor of Israel’s first computer magazine, he worked as a scientific programmer, managed business intelligence efforts at one of Israel’s largest high-tech companies, managed large-scale risk assessment studies, and was a member of a covert police intelligence unit. Dr. Pely has even piloted single engine aircraft and engineless paragliding canopies.
