Debra Bennell is currently a lecturer at Curtin University and PhD student, and she is also the former Director of the Oorala Aboriginal Centre UNE. She has over 30 years’ experience in a broad range of service delivery agencies, higher education and management and board membership roles, at TAFE and Aboriginal Medical Services. She was a Ministerial appointment to the Australian National Council on AIDS and Related Diseases (ANCARD), Indigenous Australians Sexual Health Working Party. She was a researcher on an ARC grant focusing on the language and literacy needs of Indigenous students as they transition into the workplace and project team member of the OLT funded “Indigenous Higher Education Transition Project” and various other projects.
