David Muskhelishvili (October 19, 1928, Tbilisi) is a Georgian historian, Doctor of History, and Academician.
From 1956 to 1960, he was a junior researcher at Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History. From 1960 to 1967, he was a senior researcher, and after 1967 he was the Head of the Department of Historical Geography at the same institute.
From 1999 to 2006, he was the Director of Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology.
Since 2001, he has been the Chairman of the Board of the International Center for Christian Studies at the Georgian Orthodox Church.
Since 2006, he has been the Chairman of the Board of the Center for the Study of History, Ethnology, Religion and Propaganda.
Since 2007, he has been the Chairman of the Commission on History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
