Dr. Daiana García was born on February 23, 1985, in Emilio V. Bunge, Buenos Aires Province, within a social and cultural context that fostered her early interest in scientific knowledge and in education as tools for both individual and collective transformation.

She began her university studies at the National University of Río Cuarto, where she obtained her degree in Microbiology in 2008. She pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Lleida, Spain. In 2009, she obtained a master’s degree in research in Agri-food Production Systems under the supervision of Dr. Sonia Marín and the co-supervision of Dr. Antonio Ramos Girona. In 2012, she completed her PhD in Agricultural and Food Science and Technology, with European Distinction, also at the University of Lleida. During this period, she carried out research stays at the Complutense University of Madrid and at the Institute of Food Production Sciences in Bari, Italy—experiences that significantly enriched both her scientific training and personal development.

Upon her return to Argentina, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Microbial Ecology Laboratory of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the National University of Río Cuarto. Since 2014, she has been a researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), where she joined as an Assistant Researcher and currently holds the position of Associate Researcher. Her scientific work has focused on the study of microorganisms associated with agri-food systems, the development of biological and chemical strategies for the control of toxigenic fungi and post-harvest pests, and the assessment of the impact of these interventions on food quality and safety.

Alongside her scientific career, she has developed an extensive university-level teaching trajectory and currently serves as Head of Practical Work for the Virology course in the Microbiology program. She also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Experimental Science Practices and a Specialization in Higher Education Teaching at the National University of Río Cuarto.

Her academic output is reflected in numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals, book chapters, and contributions to national and international scientific and technological conferences and workshops. In addition, she has served as an evaluator of research projects, researcher promotion processes, and scientific manuscripts, thereby actively contributing to the evaluation system and to the assurance of quality in scientific production.
