Claudio received the Laurea degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1991 and from 1992 to 1995 he held his PhD fellowship within the National Research Program on Bioengineering working at DIST, Department of Informatics, Systems, and Telecommunications of the University of Genoa, Italy. He held a postdoctoral position at ICSI, the International Computer Science Institute of Berkeley and in 1996 he joined the Neurology and Telerobotics Units directed by Lawrence Stark, at the School of Optometry of the University of California at Berkeley. He was appointed Lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering Department. He is still with the School of Optometry and he serves as the Chief Scientist of Neuroptics Inc.
