Dr. Carolyn Gentle-Genitty has engaged in understanding and spotlighting violence from vantages of youth, girls, women, at-risk juveniles, gang members, and prisoners for over 25 years. She is an international expert in social bonding and derivatives of school absenteeism including truancy and dropout, and she is President of the International Association of Truancy and Dropout Prevention (IATDP). Her instrument for assessing social bonding in schools, PSSB, was accepted by the American Psychological Association and included in Caribbean assessments conducted by CARICOM.
