Prof. Dr. Carlos Narciso Bouza Herrera was born in La Habana, 29/x/1942, Cuba. He has headed more than 60 research projects, most of them with institutions of Latin America and Europe, and has published more than 200 papers. His area of investigation is in mathematical statistics and stochastic optimization. He also managed to be author, coauthor or editor of 19 books and monographs. He is consulting editor of Current Index to Statistics and of International Abstracts of Operations Research.
