Bishal K. Sitaula earned his Ph.D. degree from Norwegian University in Life Sciences. His work focuses on various institutional collaboration programs in higher education and research in South Asia, Africa and Western Balkans. His international collaboration experiences in diverse environmental and development issues, with inter- and multi-disciplinary frameworks, are mainly focused on ecological and socio-economic issues influencing the environment and global change. The specific topics include: anthropogenic influences on soil, water, and air; land use and changes; agricultural intensification; GHG fluxes from land; carbon dynamics; land degradation; system analyses; environmental education; and conflict, peace and development studies including wisdom and personal transformation. He has over 25 years of experience in higher education and research and has contributed to developing various educational programs and courses and created several educational documentary films. In addition to having contributed to more than 190 scientific publications, he has wider public engagements and social work with extensive delivery of public talks having large media coverage.
