Astrida Skrinda

Dr. Astrida Skrinda is a 2022 Fulbright Scholar. Her academic achievements include a postgraduate diploma in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Canterbury Christ Church University in the UK. Her doctoral research focused on the contextualised learning of low-frequency English vocabulary in higher education. She has been teaching English in a university context for many years. Among others, she has taught such courses as “Terminology”, “Cultural Studies”, “Functional Communication”, “Normative Grammar”, “Legal English”, “EFL Vocabulary Teaching and Learning”, “English for Academic Purposes”, “English for Special Purposes” and “Business English”.

After obtaining a doctoral degree, Astrida Skrinda has held research positions. She has had leading editorial roles at a number of academic journals that have been included in Scopus and other scholarly venues.

Astrida Skrinda has published reviews and research papers, and her main areas of interest – teaching and learning English as a second language, vocabulary instruction, vocabulary assessment and individual learners’ differences.
