Asghedom Ghebremichael
Research Economist, the Environment and Natural Resources.
With a 30-year public service experience, as an employee of the Canadian Department of Natural Resources, Dr. Asghedom Ghebremichael is a Senior Research Economist, specializing in environmental and natural resource economics. Genuine sustainable development (GSD) is an organizing principle of all his research projects. He defines GSD as a multidimensional modern science that promotes and fosters human well-being in an inclusive, a just, and an environmentally safe operating space; meaning living within boundaries of the biosphere. Disputing the doctrine of perpetual economic growth in the closed, non-growing, and finite biosphere, he advocates for an effective-democratic governance system that integrates ecological, social, economic, environmental, and institutional dimensions of GSD. This is the core message of this book.
