Anis Chowdhury

Anis (Anisuzzaman) Chowdhury holds concurrent adjunct positions as Professor in the School of Social Sciences and Psychology, Western Sydney University and School of Business, Australian Defence Force Academy, University of New South Wales (Australia). He held senior United Nations positions in New York and Bangkok during 2008-2016. Previously, he was Professor of Economics at the University of Western Sydney (2001-2012) and taught also at the National University of Singapore, University of New England (Australia) and University of Manitoba (Canada). He was a founding managing editor of the Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy (1995-2008), where he remains on its editorial board as a co-editor. He is also on the editorial board of the Economic and Labour Relations Review). He has published widely on East and Southeast Asian economies and on macro-development issues, which include 20 books and close to 100 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters. He holds PhD and MA degrees from the University of Manitoba and Honours and Master’s degrees from Jahangirnagar University of Bangladesh.
