Dr. Andrew G. Semenov is a practicing specialist in theoretical and experimental acoustics, working as a senior research scientist in academician N.N. Andreev’s Acoustics Institute related to Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow and advising in the field. Born in Moscow in 1943 he has graduated from the Moscow Physical Engineering Institute in 1966, receiving his diploma in Theoretical Nuclear Physics and then in 1972 he had successfully graduated from postgraduate PhD courses in N. N. Andreev’s Acoustics Institute defending thesis and is currently still there. Being a member of European and Russian Acoustical Societies, he has published more than 100 papers in Russian and International scientific journals on various problems of acoustics. He is an author of more than 90 patents in acoustics, aerospace industry, shipbuilding and underwater detection systems awarded with title “Honorary inventor of Russian Federation” in 1983. His current research interests are in acoustics of moving inhomogeneous media, physical acoustics, aeroacoustics, underwater detection systems theory, noise and vibrations.
