Professor and Director of Research in Development and Innovation, Universidad del Zulia (LUZ)/Secadores Industriales de Venezuela (SECAVENCA), Maracaibo, Venezuela

Alexis Faneite was born in Santa Ana de Coro, Venezuela, on September 22, 1975. In 1998, he graduated with honors, earning an associate degree in chemical processes from the Alonso Gamero Polytechnic University (Santa Ana de Coro, Venezuela). In 2006 and 2010, he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering, respectively, from the University of Zulia (Maracaibo, Venezuela). His research focuses on thermodynamics, biomass chemistry, drying kinetics, dryer simulation, biorefining, food science and technology, among others. Since 2001, he has been an associate professor at the University of Zulia, and he now has over 26 years of professional experience. He has been a guest professor at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and at the Free University (Bogota, Colombia). He continues his research at the Polytechnic School of Lausanne (Lausanne, Switzerland) and at the Public University of Pamplona (Pamplona, Spain). He has spoken at many scientific events in Colombia, Guatemala, the United States, Italy, and India.
