Alexandre Igor Araripe Medeiros is an adjunct professor at the Institute of Physical Education and Sport at the Federal University of Ceara (Brazil) and is a professor at the Postgraduate Program in Physiotherapy and Functionality at the same institution. He graduated with a PhD thesis in beach volleyball performance analysis at the Faculty of Sport at the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2014. He is interested in the monitoring, training, and performance in athletes, particularly centered on team sports. He has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals with impact factors and contributed as a reviewer in peer-reviewed journals. He currently serves as the associate editor of the Journal of Physical Education. He was a performance analyst of the female beach volleyball team (fourth place) in the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
