Alejandro Romero is Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid (Madrid, Spain). Currently, he combines his interest and background on molecular toxicology in three well-established research lines: i) evaluate and understand the molecular mechanisms of new molecules with therapeutic interest; ii) identify the molecular mechanisms underlying the cell death pathways involved in the toxicity of xenobiotics; iii) focus on novel melatonin-based therapies. Dr. Romero has worked on 15 research projects, 100 national and international meetings and symposia, has written 12 book chapters and has published 85 research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
