ABSTRACT

The American Heart Association (AHA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) produce a joint statistical report annually relating to heart disease, stroke, and cardiovascular risk factors associated with cardio-vascular health. The report provides important information for clinicians, scholars, researchers, lay public, policymakers, media professionals, and health care administrators, government health advocates, and others in public health areas. This mini-review highlights the important issues in the 2025 report. It is concluded that Governments and multilateral organizations should prioritize not only heart disease and stroke but also pandemic preparedness planning alongside efforts to reduce the burden of diseases and injuries that will strain resources in the future.
