The future of transportation is rapidly changing, and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) are at the forefront of that change. As technological advances continue to make HEVs more efficient and sustainable, they are becoming increasingly popular as a viable alternative to traditional vehicles. HEVs are excellent solutions for making travel more sustainable. In order to achieve an emission-free future by 2050, HEVs are the critical factor. The contents of this book are presented in seven lucid chapters. The book deals with the fundamentals of HEVs, requirements of power electronic converters and challenges associated with their implementation in electric vehicles (EVs), battery management systems of HEVs, load demand modelling of HEVs, charging topologies, applications of EVs in microgrids, the role of HEVs in the load frequency control of standalone microgrid, energy storage management systems of HEVs, and the development of influential charging stations for HEVs with the advent of new topologies of power electronic converters.
