“Several textbooks on asthma are already in existence but, in my opinion, this one edited by Jesús Miguel García-Menaya, is a truly comprehensive book about allergic asthma. Authors have achieved their initial goal, summarizing in each chapter the new information on every important aspect in this topic and providing a worthy update to allergists and other practitioners interested in asthma….” To read the full review, click here>>>Dr. Javier Dominguez Ortega, Allergy Department, La Paz University Hospital, Madrid, Spain

This book describes in depth the potential dangers of allergic asthma, like thunderstorm-asthma outbreaks, occupational asthma, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis and new potential threats like climate change and air pollution influencing asthma. There are also other chapters describing the epidemiology, immunology and allergens related to allergic asthma. The concept of united airway disease is reviewed, and special situations like severe asthma and aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease are also covered. Chapters about diagnostic approach and primary treatments, including biologics and clinical pharmacogenomics in asthma therapy, contributes to a more complete knowledge about this complex, fascinating and sometimes dangerous disease.
