ABSTRACT

In today’s world, the strong economy of a country plays an important role in the journey of development. Many factors help improve the economy and one of these factors is tourism. There are many countries in which their economy is based on tourism. Saudi Arabia is also targeting that their major economic reliance should shift to tourism. Based on this motivation, this paper is contributing toward enabling Augmented Reality to facilitate tourists in the country. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is historically rich. This study proposes a Collaborative Augmented Reality framework for tourists in the Kingdom. The visitors can hire expert guides, and get real-time help and explanation regarding incidents or events relevant to a specific spot. The proposed solution is innovative due to its enhanced efficiency and security mechanism during communication among visitors and guides. Moreover, the proposed framework operates under a collaborative trusted network whose transactions are protected from unauthorized intrusions. The ease of communication and making moves, the overall tourism experience and the seeking apprised of different places have become easily attainable for the incoming tourists. Moreover, the proposed solution contributes to the economy of the country.
