The rapid development of biotechnology and molecular biology has made the genetically modified (GM) crops become a part of agricultural production. Following the success in global market, safety issues of GM crops have become a public concern in the last decade. Therefore, GM crop safety assessment protocol has been developed following the guidelines which proposed by WHO/FAO and Codex. Although the current protocol is well-proven, works on the accuracy and validation of methodology are still required. Today, many efforts have made in bioinformatics allergenicity prediction, animal models and the analysis of unintended effects. (Imprint: Nova)
