Optical communication, also known as optical telecommunication, is communication at a distance using light to carry information. It can be performed visually or by using electronic devices. In this book, the authors propose systems of microring resonators (MRRs) that use localized spatial and temporal soliton pulses to form optical communication signals.

The main advantage of using soliton pulses in optical communication systems is that the shape of the pulse remain almost unaltered over a long distance. The third chapter introduces digital signal processing for Nyquist-WDM systems. The last chapter in this book provides an in-depth analysis performed on the transmission, reflection and directive properties of nanoantennas.
