The studies on pig manure utilization are focused on two areas: the use of the manure to fertilize soil and the treatment of the raw and digested manure. Essentially, this book concentrates on the separation of the treated slurries into liquid and solid phases, and the subsequent use of the two obtained products. The fertilizing effects of the manure originating from Polish pig farms on the croplands belonging to the pig farm owners are discussed. Due to high phosphorus content in the soil, the recommended manure dose was decreased to match the acceptable quantities of both phosphorus and nitrogen. Additionally, a newly developed complex pig manure treatment and filtration technology called the AMAK process is presented. (Imprint: Nova)

The book presents studies on the utilization of pig manure focused on two areas: the use of the manure to fertilize soil, and treatment and separation of the raw and digested manure with new efficient methods, utilization of liquid and solid phase. The book provide scientific and technical support for the conception and development of sustainable pig manure management and is available for selecting pig manure management systems aiming at recovery of nutrients, and effective protection of natural environment.
