Advances in molecular biology, immunology, and pathology are transforming the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. This volume presents current research on the molecular mechanisms of tumor progression, innovative immunotherapeutic approaches, advanced experimental models, and the pathology of odontogenic lesions. Chapter 1 examines the structure and biological functions of cell adhesion molecules in cancer progression and metastasis, emphasizing the molecular and epigenetic interactions among cancer cells, endothelial cells, and immune cells within the tumor microenvironment. Chapter 2 reviews recent advances in immunomodulatory strategies for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), covering emerging therapeutic approaches such as oncolytic viruses, engineered T-cell therapies, natural killer cell therapies, cytokine-induced killer cells, immune checkpoint inhibitors, immunomodulatory agents, cancer vaccines, and myeloid cell-targeting therapies. Chapter 3 provides a comprehensive overview of modern cell culture methodologies, tracing the evolution of experimental models from conventional two-dimensional (2D) cultures to sophisticated three-dimensional (3D) systems that more accurately replicate the in vivo cellular environment. Chapters 4–6 focus on the diagnosis and management of odontogenic cystic lesions and tumors. Chapter 4 presents an institutional analysis of the prevalence, distribution, and recurrence patterns of odontogenic keratocysts and unicystic ameloblastomas following decompression therapy. Chapter 5 examines the histopathological changes that occur in the epithelial lining of benign odontogenic cystic tumors after marsupialization or decompression. Chapter 6 investigates alterations in the expression of key molecular markers before and after decompression, providing insights into the biological mechanisms underlying treatment-induced tissue remodeling.
