In this book, the concentrations of Zn were particularly determined in seven different soft tissues of 17 geographical populations of Telescopium telescopium collected from the intertidal area of Peninsular Malaysia. The relationships of Zn concentrations between the different soft tissues of snails and speciation using sequential extraction in surface sediments were evaluated using multiple linear stepwise regression analysis (MLSRA). Different concentrations of Zn were found in the different soft tissues, indicating different mechanisms of sequestration and regulations of Zn in these different tissues. By comparing the Zn concentrations in similar tissues, spatial variation of Zn was found in the different sampling sites. (Imprint: Nova)
