“The book of Professor V. Jinescu has a high degree of originality and provides a unified approach for solving specific multidisciplinary problems, comparable to what represented some time ago the constitution of the mechanics of the continuous medium rigid, linear, viscoelastic, plastic, and elastoplastic. This book will open up new fields of research and new solutions in science, that were not previously possible. I congratulate Professor V.Jinescu and I warmly recommend the book to all researchers, engineers and PhD fellows as a new way to analyze the behavior of different non-linear or linear-elastic material structures, under different types of loads applied in cases of equilibrium, transient or time-varying regime. ” To read the full review, click here>>>. – Costică Atanasiu, Professor Emeritus at the Strength of Materials Department, University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania; Member of the Academy of Technical Sciences from Romania

Critical States, Strength and Lifetime of the Matter – Technical Structures, Living Organisms, Environment is for mechanical, material, structural, civil, and aerospace engineers involved in the practical applications of structural integrity assessment for industrial components, as well as environmental engineers, biophysicists, and physicists. It may also be of interest for researchers, academics, and young scientists, specifically undergraduate and graduate students.

The scope of this book makes it possible to solve many cases of loading superposition and/or cumulation occurring in technical structures, living organisms, and the environment. As such, this book addresses the following:

  • The unitary treatment of problems related to the strength, critical states, and lifetime of technical structures by taking into account deterioration, residual stresses, irreversibility, and the rate of loading processes
  • The provision of solutions to superposition and/or the cumulation of loads of various natures and types (i.e., mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical, magnetic, nuclear, etc.), in the cases of technical structures, living organisms, and the environment
  • Support in improving design code
