Series: Global Political Studies

The book provides an analysis of the phenomenon of corruption in the Mediterranean and Balkan countries. Since in a large number of them it is generally perceived that historically this phenomenon is very widespread, the book might be useful in explaining corruption in the region. Its basic scope is to examine the most important economic, political and social factors that determine corruption in this region as well as to highlight the existing interregional differences referring to this phenomenon. The analysis focuses on the study of the effects that the level of economic development, the form of the political system and the level of human development exert on corruption. (Imprint: Nova)
