ABSTRACT

With the aims to facilitate a better understanding of current biochemical research as well as to promote collaborations and interactions among postgraduate students and young scientists in the three major universities in Hong Kong, the Department of Biochemistry, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) hosted the second “Hong Kong Inter-University Biochemistry Postgraduate Symposium” on 11th June, 2011. This event was jointly organized by the Biochemistry Program/Section of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Two highly esteemed international scientists were invited to give keynote lectures in this symposium – Professor Takashi Fujita from the Kyoto University and Professor Ben Berkhout from the University of Amsterdam.
