Part of the book: The Challenges of Disaster Planning, Management, and Resilience
The aim of this study was the review of the literature on the interactions between energy security and climate change. The energy policy and the general strategies in relation to the five dimensions of the Energy Union were described. The measurement of the impacts of energy security of resources concentration through the use of specific mathematical indexes and the case study focused on Mediterrenean region was also approached. Generally, this work can guide academic research and policymakers to approach and solve issues involved the interactions between energy security and climate change.
Keywords: energy security, climate change, Mediterranean region, crude oil, natural gas
