Part of the book: The Biochemical Guide to Proteins
The receptors on T cells are fairly simple and ensure the safety of our body and protection against all unwanted microorganisms that can disrupt its work and pose a real danger. Thanks to them, the body knows what its component is and what is an intruder and must be eliminated. Also, thanks to the efforts of people involved in genetic aspects activities, new therapies are developed or therapies are discovered, treatment methods used mainly in the treatment of cancer. Taking into account that neoplastic diseases are among the diseases of civilization, the hopes resulting from the possibility of using T-cell receptors are an opportunity for many people for whom there is currently no rescue.
Keywords: T cell receptors (TCR), complementarity determining regions (CDRs), lymphocytes, autoimmunity
