ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the influence of carbon emission disclosure and green innovation on green competitive advantage, with green intellectual capital as a moderating variable. The research population consists of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2022–2023 that publish audited annual and sustainability reports. Using data from the IDX-IC Industrial Classification, a total of 750 observations were obtained through a combination of cross-sectional and time-series data. The findings show that carbon emission disclosure has a significant positive effect on green competitive advantage. Furthermore, green intellectual capital strengthens the relationship between carbon emission disclosure, green innovation, and green competitive advantage. Additional tests involving carbon targets and strategies, carbon emission accounting, governance, and carbon pricing, capture, and storage also reveal significant positive effects. The study offers theoretical and practical implications, particularly for the development of carbon emission disclosure models, green innovation strategies, and green transformational leadership. It also provides valuable insights for regulators and business operators regarding green business opportunities through energy transitions. The novelty of this research lies in the application of a new carbon emission disclosure model to evaluate its impact on green competitive advantage, moderated by green intellectual capital.
