ABSTRACT
It seems to me that biochemistry/molecular biology will continue to exist as an independent discipline for as long as science itself and be defined by two things; the nature of the subject matter and the basis of the approach to studying it; not chemical methods only, nor only applied objectives, but Life as a proper subject and chemical thinking as allowing an approach peculiarly its own. And Hong Kong may have a very important part to play in that: we oldsters certainly struggled to make it possible and hope that the effort was not in vain.
