This volume includes seven chapters that detail advances in psychology research. Chapter 1 examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming the field of Death Education. Chapter 2 integrates psychological and interdisciplinary perspectives to examine the extent to which beliefs in chance and fate reflect objective properties of reality or are shaped by cognitive and motivational processes. Chapter 3 outlines an integrated positive psychology framework through which to make sense of digital flourishing and happiness. Chapter 4 focuses on sleep and its importance on the consolidation of memory, learning, and optimizing cognition. Chapter 5 examines the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in psychological assessment, situated in recent technological developments within the broader context of clinical practice and psychological theory. Chapter 6 investigates whether emotional intelligence and self-efficacy predict teachers’ emotional exhaustion. Finally, chapter 7 focuses on human behavior, and how it should not be considered as a source of instability to be eliminated, but rather as a functional component of system performance that can both generate risk and contribute to safety.
