This volume includes eight chapters that detail advances in health and disease. Chapter 1 details advances in neuropathic pain, a chronic and debilitating condition arising from lesions or diseases affecting the somatosensory nervous system, including mechanistic insights, diagnostic challenges, and integrative therapeutic approaches. Chapter 2 lays a solid, up-to-date foundation for researchers to further design and investigate new studies to deepen our knowledge of microRNA biomarkers. Chapter 3 describes ketamine, addressing the historical concerns of its usage, and supports it as a safe and effective agent across a broad spectrum of critical care scenarios when administered with appropriate precautions. Chapter 4 aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the current approach to managing patients suspected of having anaphylaxis or related disorders in everyday practice. Chapter 5 explores how contemporary digital innovations—including electronic health records (EHRs), clinical decision support systems (CDSS), telehealth, mobile health (mHealth) applications, artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and connected devices—are transforming the continuum of care across diverse clinical and public health settings. Chapter 6 examines the integration of mindfulness-based stress reduction programs into daily life for the management of chronic diseases. Chapter 7 examines the contemporary evidence for the use of four-factor prothrombin complex concentrate (4F-PCC), fresh frozen plasma (FFP), and vitamin K, along with specific reversal agents (idarucizumab and andexanet alfa), in the emergency management of anticoagulant-associated Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH). Finally, Chapter 8 presents an overview of hymenaea courbaril, providing an update on its botanical characteristics, chemical composition, and biological activities, as well as perspectives on its use as medicinal plant.
