Real-time Computer Vision (CV) processes associated with smart cities via the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem are propelled by efficiency, speed, and consistent image data communication. Besides, a communication system-based method, characterized by higher data rate and spectral competence by the name Fast Fourier Transform-based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (FFT-OFDM) has been proposed and broadly used in the literature. In this regard, the present study thus drops the FFT and incorporates the application of Discrete Cosine Transform-based (DCT), resulting in DCT-OFDM, coupled with the phase modulation to devise a reliable way for the attainment of steady signals with Constant Envelope (CE) in communication systems. In the end, various advantages for the deployed EC-DCT-OFDM have been recorded in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and other areas, including maximum power efficiency, speed, and consistent image transmission against other methods that are now found to be inferior; indeed, comparative examination among the contending approaches shows that EC-DCT-OFDM proffers robustness in communication systems in comparison with the CE-FFT-OFDM.
